I’m in Thailand right now. I want to travel somewhere for the next week or so, but don’t have a clear idea in mind of where I want to go.

Rather than clicking through hundreds of locations one by one I would like to find a list of last minute deals on flights from Bangkok to anywhere that I could choose from. Ideally these would be flights leaving withing the next couple of days.

[Let me first say that I am generally an optimistic person, and I believe (and hope) that this swine flu will not be as bad as many are fearing.]

My family and I will be taking an 11 day tour of Central Europe, and our vacation starts in less than 3 weeks.

Let’s suppose we have to cancel the trip because of the impact of the swine flu (i.e. tour is cancelled, flights are cancelled, or we are advised not to travel to Europe).

Let’s also suppose that my family does not have the option of rescheduling this tour for sometime later this summer.

If we have to cancel, my thought is that my family should still take a vacation together somewhere in the US during the time we were supposed to be in Europe, even if it’s a relatively short vacation (4-5 days, instead of 11).

Any ideas on where we could go for a few days? Here are a few notes…

1. Purchasing a new flight at the last minute would probably be too expensive, so it should be a reasonable car drive from Southern California.

2. Everyone on the trip will be adults. Age range will be 27 to 71.

Ok my wife and I are going to Florida to visit my family for a few days in Feb. Feb 18-22, to be exact. We live in St. Louis. Usually I can drive this in about 16 hrs.
However, I was told since I know my exact travel date, around Feb 17, go to Priceline and book St. Louis-Orlando, and do the “name my own price” at the last minute, and we may be able to book a flight as low as $120 grand total price for both roundtrip. As the airlines will release unsold seats to Priceline dirt cheap.
Is this true?

And what would be the best way to go about this?

Anyone have any expereince in a similar situation with Priceline?

Please advise w/details!

Thanks

I am mostly interested in tickets to the theme parks, dining options, and just general advice for a first timer. We have travel and lodging taken care of. What must I see or do? The party consists of 6 adults and two 5 year olds.
