Any tips on last minute flight jitters?
Yuna asked:
I am flying to Florida tomorrow and am already feeling incredibly shaky and nervous. I have some Valium to take on the plane to help calm my nerves, but I need some serious reassurance before I go. In all actually I know that planes are the safest way to travel, however, something in my mind doesn’t want me to accept that reasoning, and is making me so nervous I’m sick to my stomach! Please, any words of encouragement and reassurance would be a great help! Thank you!

Distract yourself. Bring a book, music whatever. I recently flew with a friend and it was his first time flying. He was fine… really the only possible “scary parts” are the noises at takeoff and landing, and if you hit any turbulence. Just get through that, and you should be golden.

Watch your favourite movie (preferably one you know virtually all the words to) the night before and then before the plane takes off, just think about what Florida will be like. Not how you are going to get there.

Worry about what to pack instead. Make sure you dont forget your bakini! Do you need to bring towels? Did you think of that? The Valium will have you happy as lark. No worries!

What you are feeling is completely normal. It’s just the last minute jitters before travel. I think that it is a combination of excitement, but you are also nervous about the flight.
You are going to have a great time on your trip! The plane ride is just the short trip you have to take there. Relax on the plane and enjoy yourself, flying is wonderful. Try to calm yourself down so you aren’t too nervous during the flight. Flying is so much fun if you can enjoy it. Bring something along to keep your mind off of it, but you may be so excited that you will want to look out the window and enjoy the flight.
I fly all the time, usually at least once a month. I’ve never had a problem. Airlines are very safe, they don’t fly anymore if there is any problem. If they feel uncertain about anything from weather to mechanical, they will wait to take off. So you know that they are concerned about your safety.
Just relax today! Finish up your packing and get some things ready to go so you don’t have to do it tomorrow. Maybe go shopping for a little bit to see if you can find something for your trip, just get your mind off of it for a while. Maybe ask a friend if they would go to lunch with you. Go to your library and pick up some books of Florida and you can read them during your flight.
Just relax and have fun! The flight you will be fine! Your trip is going to be wonderful, you don’t have anything to worry about!
I hope you start feeling better!

Hi
I can totally agree with tech when it comes to flying and you start gettting jittery, just try to take your mind off of it. I know it is a hard to thing to do if you have a phobia about flying. I fly at least once a year from Germany to America and that is a 10 hour flight. I try to take things on the plane that best intrest you. I love watching movies and listening to Music. I end up taking my laptop and my dvd player everytime. Also who’s to say you might not get tired and if that is the case you are even luckier you get to sleep through it all. I would say the best thing to do for flight jitters is just try to relax as best as you can and take things that would occupy your time. I hope that helps

Bring a CD player with your favorite CALMING music, Bring your Bible, a goo dbook, some magazines. Basically anything that will take your mind off of your nervousness.
My cousin drank 2 apply martini at the airport before we left for a weekend in California. Different things work for different people.
Good Luck on Calming your nerves.

well here’s a true fact: you are in more danger in a car, than you are in a plane, and your more likely to get hurt in a car then in a plane. also a plane is cool!!! you can watch movies get free food, lie on a very soft pillow, and
