Leonardo D asked:

Or should I buy it earlier?
And is August a suitable time for travelling in Europe?

  1. If you dont live in Europe, you can buy it anytime, of course before arriving in Europe.
August is high season, so many yo see a lot of people, but you will enjoy it.
The beaches I can’t tell you, I went in winter time, but it’s summer time, so don’t worry.

  2. As a frequent visitor to Europe, I wont recommend a Eurail pass unless you’ll be traveling as much. The pass comes with a lot of fine print and there are hidden supplemental costs such as reservation fees, restrictions on certain trains etc etc and etc. If you dont pay that in advance, it can be really embarrasing when they check your ticket in the train and ask you to cough up the supplement that you simply were unaware about.

If you know the exact itinerary you’ll follow, you can travel on budget airlines which are faster and often cheaper. There’s a whole list available according to point of departure and destination at

Further, national railway networks of all European countries offer discounted railway tickets if booked in advance and for certain trains. Here are some websites which you can refer before deciding to buy a Eurail pass:
    (Netherlands)
    (Belgium)
    ( Thalys railway network)
    (Germany)
    (Italy)
    (Spain)
    (Austria)
    (Denmark)
    (France)

Just Google the name of the country you wish to travel and add the word ‘railway’ and you’ll get the website of that country’s rail network. All these sites are also in English.
